Friday Night SmackDown always brings exciting moments for fans, and the January 31st episode will be no different since it’s the go-home edition of the show before the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. With a packed lineup of matches, fans can look forward to non-stop action that will keep them entertained and wanting more. Tonight’s WWE SmackDown promises to deliver high drama and storylines that will keep fans on the edge of their seats. With solid matches like Chelsea Green vs. Michin, it’s bound to be a show you won’t want to miss. WWE SmackDown will air live from the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, starting at 8 PM ET on the USA Network and also on-demand viewing. Internationally, fans can also catch the show on streaming platforms like Netflix.
A solid eight-man tag team match is set as Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) team up with Los Garza (Angel & Berto) to take on the WWE Tag Team Champions DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) and Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson & Elton Prince). This match comes after Motor City Machine Guns secured a tag title shot at the Royal Rumble by defeating Pretty Deadly during the January 24th edition of Friday Night SmackDown. We’ll have to see which team will pick up the win in this highly anticipated match. Chelsea Green will defend her Women’s United States Championship against Michin in a rematch from their Saturday Night’s Main Event bout last year. Fans are definitely excited for the match and it remains to be seen whether Michin will pull off the upset this time around.
Naomi has had a busy week since she competed on both Raw and NXT. After teaming with Bianca Belair to defeat Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez on Raw, Naomi and Belair successfully defended their titles against Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson on NXT. For SmackDown this week, Naomi faces Liv Morgan in a singles match, once again intensifying their feud. Carmelo Hayes was originally scheduled to face Jimmy Uso last week, but an altercation between Jimmy and Kevin Owens changed the plans. Regardless, Hayes is out to prove he is better than Big Jim, so fans are looking forward to seeing if Hayes can back up his big claims this time around.
On last week’s SmackDown, Michin, along with the help of B-Fab, scored a huge win over Piper Niven and Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green. After a hard-hitting and swift match between the opposing sides, Michin would catch Chelsea Green off-guard to hit her with an Eat Defeat and score the pinfall victory for her team and over the champ. This statement victory clearly impressed the WWE higher-ups, granting Michin a shot at the Women’s United States Championship. The O.C. member was extremely close to being crowned the inaugural Women’s United States back at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event if it weren’t for the interference of Green’s close confidant, Piper Niven.
