Welcome to our live coverage of TNA Victory Road 2024, broadcasting from the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas. We’ll be bringing you all the action from this highly anticipated event. The Countdown To TNA Victory Road 2024 Kickoff Pre-Show opens up with Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt welcoming us. We then get the entrances of the first match of the pre-show, which is a Singles Match.
In the main event, Nic Nemeth will attempt to make a fourth successful defence of his TNA World Championship when he takes on Moose. Leon Slater, one of the most exciting prospects in wrestling who is still just 19 years of age, is returning to TNA for the first time in almost three months. I get that he was a Scott D’Amore guy, and maybe they had no immediate plans for him, but TNA have completely wasted Slater’s first year under contract and I have no faith that’s going to change any time soon. You’d think Slater would be going over here – why bring him across the pond just to do some jobs – but who knows. Kushida is spinning his wheels and can more than eat a loss, so why not put the young dude over.There’s been a lot of chatter this week about cobbled together tag teams following the Gauntlet on Dynamite, so let’s have some more here!
Maclin and Young had a singles match at Emergence and after earning each other’s respect, decided to team up here to take on Hammerstone and Something. While I’d like to see Maclin involved in something more significant at the top of the card, I quite like him and Young as a makeshift team to keep both guys busy and add depth to the tag division. I’d extend the same sentiment to Hammerstone and Something – while you could do something better with both guys than a cobbled together team, it could be a better direction than just having them spin their wheels all the time. Maclin and Young have more of a story coming in here, so they should be going over.There’s a fairly simple direction to this one. The Hardys have called their shot for the tag titles, and putting them in a title match at Bound for Glory seems like a sensible, logical move. As such, this is a way for them to rack up another win. It also gives KC Navarro another chance to impress, even if it’s going to be in defeat. Since returning to the promotion to interrupt her marriage to PCO, the ice cold Matt Cardona has decreed that because he got her bookings in TNA, Steph De Lander is his property. Yep, I agree. This is an absolute doldrums Attitude Era story that has no redeeming features. Because he’s being mean to her, De Lander is upset and keeps crying. She’ll likely cry some more and give us some more great overacting here, as she’s forced to team up with Cardona against her ‘husband’ and Rhino.
