AEW rolled into Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana, for yesterday’s episode of Dynamite, where they also taped this Saturday’s (Apr. 26) episode of Collision. This is the “Playoff Palooza” edition of Collision that is set to air coast-to-coast immediately following coverage of the NBA Playoffs. Tonight’s episode of AEW Collision will definitely be an action-packed affair from start to finish, starting at 8.30PM, air live from the Lakefront Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana.
The Young Bucks came out and told Swerve Strickland that his match was starting right away. Swerve then wrestled Blake Christian and won the match. After the match, the Young Bucks attacked Swerve, but Kenny Omega came out to help and saved him. In an AEW Women’s Championship Eliminator match, Toni Storm beat Queen Aminata. Max Caster had an open challenge and a hologram answered it. The hologram ended up beating Caster. This marked Anna Jay’s first appearance since the December 18 episode of AEW Dynamite, where she failed to beat Mercedes Moné for the TBS Championship. Therefore, fans are definitely excited to see Anna Jay back after over four months. It’s clear Anna Jay wants to prove she’s a top star in the AEW women’s division again again. With this new rivalry starting, fans can expect a solid feud between the two so we’ll have to see how their program will be booked in the coming weeks.
Returning for round three, this rivalry has been an absolute low-key classic. It’s achieving multiple goals across the prior two matches. Banger matches. Check. Their first contest ended with signs that Dax Harwood regretted his sportsmanship. It sowed the seeds of Harwood’s later actions. The second reminded us why FTR, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong are sometimes slept on and overlooked. Unless, perhaps, it’s a set-up for another tag or multi-person fracas. After FTR vs. 2.0, the match won’t end with a handshake. Also, with Stokely Hathaway now as FTR’s agent, we might see what other despicable deeds the tandem may get away with. Speaking of Stokely, what an inspired alliance! Harwood and Cash Wheeler, being both vicious and funny, are a deadly but entertaining combination. This feud has likewise made the Paragon a team to watch. A group that may have big things ahead of them after Adam Cole’s TNT Championship victory. Strong and O’Reilly will undoubtedly be able to match beat for beat, move for move, and punch for punch with their opposition.
