It's Saturday and AEW Collision is back on it's normal night and network. On the heels of AEW Dynamite 300, All Elite Wrestling is celebrating the 100th episode of Collision in grand fashion. TNT Champion Adam Cole will be at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.
At Dynamite 300, JetSpeed stormed the stage in Ontario, CA, to ambush The Hurt Syndicate, resulting in a violent brawl in which both Speedball Bailey and Kevin Knight were beaten down. Despite that, Knight defiantly demanded a Collision match — which set the stage for his showdown with Shelton Benjamin. On the flip side, on last week’s Collision, Christian Cage crashed a backstage interview with MVP, calling him out over his past and repeatedly taunting him, as he and son Nick Wayne have set their sights on the AEW World Tag Team Championship. In a digital exclusive clip this week, Renee Paquette spoke with The Hurt Syndicate when Nick Wayne interrupted. He emphasized the shared ambition between himself and Christian Cage to pursue the gold — only to be assaulted.
Over the past month, what began as a mentor-protégé relationship between FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) and the Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) has rapidly deteriorated into outright hostility, stemming in part from Truth and Turbo’s decision on the June 21 episode of Collision to save Adam Cole and Bandido from a joint beatdown by FTR and the Don Callis Family. Last week, FTR – flanked by their agent, Big Stoke — publicly addressed the Outrunners, accusing them of betraying the very guidance and opportunities FTR provided. In response, Turbo Floyd called FTR’s support a “mistake,” insisting they never needed them and that their goal is to “whoop FTR’s ass.” The Outrunners then challenged the former champions to prove their worth in the ring.
These women have clashed in singles matches, tag team showcases of various sizes, backstage ambushes, and postmatch beatdowns over the past month, and the action has been must-see every single time. All eight women looking to beat the members of the other team to a pulp promises to be a highlight of Collision 100. The legendary Místico teams up with the Conglomeration's Hologram and Mark Briscoe to battle the Don Callis Family’s Hechicero and RPG Vice (Trent Beretta & Rocky Romero). Briscoe has had his fair share of run-ins with the Family over the past few months, and both he and Místico have crossed paths with MJF and The Hurt Syndicate, as well. But the Conglomeration will need to maintain their focus on the heavy hitters in the ring in this one.
